Today I woke up early and drove to Sheffield once again to pick up my sister now that the remainder of her course can be done online. The roads were very quiet again as well, I’m dreading the next time I encounter a traffic jam when we reach normality!

On the way back home my music shuffled to Time by Jack Garratt, and for a moment I felt at peace. A combination of the lyrics, the tiredness from staring at the road, and the sunlight breaking through the clouds all came together to create a feeling of contempt and positivity.

I love driving long distances, it’s a time where I can disconnect from my everyday life and focus on the music and my inner thoughts.

It’s hard to feel positive about the near future. I am stuck in limbo, waiting for vaccination roll outs, the end of lockdowns, and the removal of restrictions. However this will pass eventually, and as Jack says, “Time is on your side”.
